Montana School of Log Building

About this Place

Al Anderson, Montana School of Log Building, has trained log builders from Denmark, China, Canada, and United States. Log building classes, a step-by-step Video Course for home learning, contractor services, and log home consultant services. Nick Anderson -logworker- directs construction of the contracted log homes in the Three Forks, Logyard.
Al Anderon brings much needed experience to the log building trade. As a cerfitied trainer of “certfied log graders”, he provided the skills for building a home to the current standards, 2009 and 2012. Without meeting these standards, loans on log homes are impossible to acquire.
The full-scribe technique allows log builders to fit logs together tight. Without a saddle notch, the log home would be weak in the corners. When logs fit together tight, the home withstands high winds and ground movement. This is why the Montana Svhool of Log Building builds it own “Montana School of Log Building’s “BULLS-EYE SCRIBER.”
Al Anderson has a unique method of putting a log home on a concrete foundation which includes specific concrete specifications. It requires knowing how to square the log sills, before stacking the logs. The full-scribed log home will ALWAYS be the best method and any other method is inferior, weak, should be avoided!
